I am still completely amazed that this package arrived along with it's contents and can only be a testament to the honesty and integrity of the Postal service. The box was way too big; the inner buffer paper was wholly inadequate and totally unconnected with the product; and the tape on the outside of the box made not even a feeble attempt to join the openings. I merely shook the box on arrival and the lopper fell out! Poor job chaps!
As for the lopper; it is a very sturdy, well made and useful tool but requires some degree of strength to operate. Between cuts it needs to be opened to it's fullest width to accommodate the next branch but does slice through beautifully! It's a bit heavy for reaching up too but maybe I'm just a bit of a wimp...!

I have had to return this item for refund. One of the telescopic arms snapped internally on being pulled out into the extended position. On this evidence, not sufficiently resilient for heavyweight use. Best I suspect to have 2 loppers, one short arm, one long, rather than trying to get one tool to do two jobs.

I have owned spear and jackson products in the past and purposely looked to buy other items from them because of there after sales policy. I owned a very reliable tree lopper for several years and accidently broke the blade, on calling spear and jackson they immediately sent me a new blade free of charge no questions asked.

These loppers do the job, are quite light and have an effective locking mechanism when extended. Seem capable of cutting at least the stated thickness of branch and probably more. Recmmended. only 4 stars as haven't used them much yet.
