Average rating of 1/5 Poor Quality 3X Magnifier, 2010-04-08
This is an exceptionally poor product. The magnification is only 3X instead of the 20X claimed by the manufacturer, so it's rather like a describing a car with a top speed of 60mph as being capable of 400mph. The image is also very distorted except near the centre, making it difficult to use. The metal casing is quite heavy too, making it a noticeable weight in the pocket - lightweight plastic casing would have been better, but this a minor complaint compared with the magnification and image distortion. Mine was in the wheelie bin with an hour of receipt.

This jeweller's loupe is good if you want to see a large hallmark but for smaller ones I have had quite a bit of difficulty in seeing some of them clearly with this loupe - it needs to be a stronger magnification. I've got sharp vision so people whose vision isn't as good will have more trouble than I did in seeing the hallmarks. But, it is still a good product and the chrome finish gives it an appealing appearance:)

Having bought this loupe along with a x10 I would put the magnification at around x10 - definitely not a x20!! I now have bought a real x20 and there is no comparison. The only reason for the 2 stars is that the field of view is quite large, much better than my now redundant x10.
