As a storage container for pasta this jar is ideal. We got a couple to store pasta as we we're getting annoyed with the useless "resealabe" bags that pasta from the supermarket comes in. The jars are a good size and the clasp makes an air-tight seal which is what you need when storing food. The clasp isn't as sturdy as some others I have seen of the same type but at the same time it isn't flimsy either. The rubber seals that attach to the inside of the lid are not attached upon purchase - you have to put them on yourelf. Be careful when doing this as is it quite easy to tear them as I found out. Generally though a very good item for food storage and for the price you can't go wrong.

The jar is made of thick glass and the metal hinged lid and rubber washer are both very good quality of materials and construction. I am very pleased with my purchase.

These jars are perfect for storage of dried goods, liquids and for preserving however as the previous reviewer pointed out they are delivered with the seals unattached. Both the seals tore on the jars that I purchased as I tried to put them on - no excessive pressure was applied but they are either too small or the rubber has somehow perished or been damaged. I will now have to buy replacement seals and hope thay are of better quality so maybe not such a bargain as they first appeared!
