When this arrived I was taken aback by how small it seemed. I have no idea what I was expecting. But it's very effective, especially useful for gardeners who like to get close to their plants. It breaks up even the most concrete of surfaces, and I should know......clay, clay and more clay. Wonderful for teasing weeds away from the smallest seedlings, before the slugs get them. Not much chance of losing it in the undergrowth, the colour is a positive advantage. Very comfortable handle, too.

The whole point of a garden tool like this is that it should be sharp. This is not.If you like beating to death weeds this is the tool for you.The length of the handle is wrong it should be longer or shorter. This results in the balance being wrong. Because it takes several attempts to destroy a weed with this you are much more likely to damage the surrounding plants. Hurling it across the garden in frustration is also quite likely to cause damage to plants, family members or even neighbours, grrrr.

This Yeoman double hoe is the best garden tool I have ever owned; it is lightweight, robust and tremendous for breaking up the soil. There is no comparison to conventional hoe, it is short handled, needs less effort and has tremendous impact on the weeds. I was so impressed I bought one for my daughter who is equally enthusiastic.
